SSL, DDoS and Zombies! Oh My! What’s A10 Talking About at RSA?

We recently gave you a glimpse into what A10 Networks has planned when RSA Conference 2017 takes over San Francisco’s Moscone Center February 13 through February 16.

We’ve got exciting speaking sessions from our security experts and our alliance partners. We’ve got a killer zombie-themed VIP party (pun intended). And we’ve got a lot of other awesomeness up our sleeve.

We’re thrilled to tell you that our schedule is now finalized, and we can share with you the full lineup of speakers and topics planned for our in-booth theater throughout RSA (don’t forget, we’ll be set up in the Moscone Center’s South Hall at booth 533). Without further ado, here’s the who, what, when and where:

Tuesday, Feb. 14

Colossal DDoS Attacks Loom: Defeat DDoS with a Precision Strategy
11:30 a.m.
(Paul Nicholson, A10 Director of Product Marketing)
The motives and actors may vary, but there is one absolute: multi-vector DDoS attacks are growing in frequency, size, duration and sophistication. Defeating these colossal DDoS attacks requires a precise strategy, not blind hope. Join us and gain inside knowledge on how to identify and mitigate the colossal 1 Tbps attacks that will target organizations through 2017 and beyond.
Partner Session: Cisco
12:15 p.m.
(Aaron Torres, Cisco Security Geek and Sales Security Engineer)
How to detect and stop cyber attacks in encrypted traffic.
The Cyber Zombie Marathon: Security Perfection or Cyber Survival
1 p.m.
(Dr. Chase Cunningham, A10 Director of Cyber Operations)
Perfection is not the goal. The mission is cyber survival. With a highly fragmented security market, it’s imperative to be smart, proactive and strategic to ensure your existence. Use the proven techniques at your disposal to eliminate critical security vulnerabilities — on-premise and in the cloud — and be more secure than flanking organizations.
Tackling the Blind Spot: Uncover Hidden Threats in Encrypted Traffic
2:15 p.m.
(Babur Khan, A10 Technical Marketing Engineer)
Data breaches can be costly and devastating. Encryption helps defend against data breaches but it also creates a new risk: the SSL Blind Spot. With 70 percent of internet traffic being encrypted, the blind spot has become too big to ignore. SSL Insight uncovers hidden threats and enables your existing security infrastructure to defend your assets against ever evolving encrypted attacks.

Protect Your Cloud-Based Applications from Attack
3 p.m.
(John Gudmundson, A10 Senior Product Marketing Manager)
With the transformation of workloads and apps to the cloud, it is imperative that they be secure. Hackers launch ‘day zero’ attacks that next gen firewalls and IPS/UTM cannot stop and application layer DDoS can overwhelm servers. Learn how A10’s Lightning Application Delivery Service defends against these and other assaults.
Partner Session: Cylance
3:45 p.m.
(John Klassen, Cylance Director of Product Marketing for OEM/Alliances)
Using algorithmic science and machine learning to detect malware.
Comprehensive Mobile and Cloud Security for Service Provider Networks
4:30 p.m.
(Lakshmi Kandadai, A10 Senior Product Marketing Manager)
Learn how A10’s Gi/SGi Firewall helps protect and scale service providers’ mobile network infrastructure by integrating high-scale DDoS mitigation, stateful firewall and CGN components into a comprehensive security solution, while enabling business agility and maintaining high uptime.
Partner Session: Fidelis Cybersecurity
5:15 p.m.
(Kurt Bertone, Fidelis Cybersecurity CTO)
Preventing Modern Intrusions at the Session Level with Encrypted Traffic Visibility: SSL encryption is bigger than ever. But while it’s keeping user sessions secure, it’s creating blind spots on your network. If you can’t see it, you can’t protect it. Learn how organizations are using A10 and Fidelis to prevent modern intrusions and eliminate the problem of alert fatigue. Together, we’re reassembling and analyzing network sessions (not just packets) in real time.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

Partner Session: Big Switch Networks
10:30 a.m.
(Bala Ramachandran, Big Switch Networks Director of Product Management)
A partner session featuring Big Switch Networks.

Partner Session: ThreatSTOP
12:15 p.m.
(Tom Byrnes, ThreatSTOP Founder and CEO)
Enforcing Security Policy in High Volume Environments: Security is no longer an optional part of network architecture, but a requirement. The general perception, however, is that there has to be a tradeoff between security and performance, and this becomes a major issue in high volume environments. Techniques such as deep packet inspection, at connection time reputation queries, and URL filtering all take place outside of the fast path. This session will discuss how handling the intelligence independently of the enforcement, and enforcing the policy using the core functionality of A10’s high capacity, wire speed, ADC devices can provide security without compromising performance. Practical demonstration of configuration and operation will be included.

Partner Session: FlowTraq
5:15 p.m.
(Dr. Vincent Berk, FlowTraq CEO)
The Difference Between 'Mitigating a DDoS When it Happens," and "DDoS Mitigation Management:" Providers, carriers, ISPs, and enterprises are increasingly having to actively manage multiple ongoing DDoS attacks. Having on-prem access to devices that can scrub multiple concurrent attacks, such as the A10 TPS are more critical and more reachable than ever and that often off-site mitigation is not a viable option.

Thursday, Feb. 16

Partner Session: Kentik
11:30 a.m.
(Jim Frey, Kentik Vice President of Strategic Alliances)
Big Data-Powered DDoS Protection: While the scale of network traffic and DDoS attacks keep increasing, traditional approaches to detecting DDoS are falling behind. Legacy DDoS detection is based on pre-cloud compute and storage and suffers from inaccuracy and a lack of detailed analytics. In this session, learn how big data-powered visibility from Kentik delivers far more accurate DDoS detection, integrates with A10 Thunder TPS, and offers the most powerful, ad-hoc traffic analytics available.
