Modernizing Web Application and API Security with ThreatX by A10 Networks
Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG)
In a recent survey conducted by the research firm, Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), 93% of respondents cited experiencing attacks on their web applications or APIs in the last 24 months. More than one-third experienced application attacks through lesser-known vulnerabilities, while 24% experienced OWASP Top 10 attacks.
The introduction of web application and API protection (WAAP) solutions has sought to alleviate some of these issues by consolidating tools for application security. However, this approach can fall short when it relies on traditional WAF technologies, loosely integrated siloed tools, or inadequate protection of the connective tissue of modern applications: APIs.
Download this ESG research paper to learn how to improve application security by taking a more holistic view of applications across an organization, the cross-vector threats targeting them, and the risk those threats pose to the environment, with particular attention paid to APIs.
In this paper you’ll learn why:
- Most WAF deployments focus on tier-1 public-facing apps, neglecting tier-N apps
- WAAP approaches might only address part of the problem
- Behavioral risk modeling is advantageous for optimal security
- Lack of security skills and resources impacts app and API security
