What is Transport Layer Security (TLS)?

March 3, 2022

Transcription

TLS, also known as Transport Layer Security, is a cryptographic protocol that enables authenticated connections and secure data transport over the internet via HTTP.

TLS is a direct evolution of SSL, although the terms TLS and SSL are sometimes used interchangeably, and the same certificates can be used with both.

While TLS can be highly effective for ensuring data privacy, encrypted traffic can also have an unintended consequence for cybersecurity introducing malware and other cyber threats into your network.

The answer is decryption and inspection, also known as SSL Insight, where you create a secure decrypt zone for full visibility into encrypted traffic.
