CHARTER TO DRIVE WORLDWIDE MARKETING STRATEGY, BRAND AWARENESS AND MARKET EXPANSION
SAN JOSE, CA, September 24, 2013 – A10 Networks™, the technology leader in Application Networking, today announced the appointment of Jason Matlof as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Reporting directly to A10 Founder and CEO Lee Chen, Jason is responsible for leading A10's global marketing organization and chartered to drive product marketing strategy, increase brand awareness, and continue market expansion in partnership with A10's worldwide sales and engineering teams. This senior executive announcement follows shortly after the appointment of Ray Smets as VP of Worldwide Sales and demonstrates A10's rapidly growing commercial opportunities.
Jason is a seasoned marketing executive with over 17 years of experience in the technology, data networking and security industry. Most recently, Jason was Vice President of Marketing at Big Switch Networks where he led Corporate and Product Marketing strategy from the initial corporate launch through early product category evangelization, and built category leadership in the emerging Software-defined Networking (SDN) product category.
Jason started his career in the mid-1990s at Cisco Systems, where he managed the product management team for the company's industry-leading, multi-billion dollar fixed-configuration Ethernet switching product suite. Directly following, he was appointed Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Neoteris, where he developed the company's product strategy to become the market leader in the emerging SSL VPN market, which has now become a greater than half-billion dollar product category. Following rapid growth, Neoteris was first acquired by NetScreen and then subsequently acquired by Juniper Networks. Jason was also an early stage investor and Partner at Battery Ventures, where he helped to build eight start-ups. Jason has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA with honors from UCLA.
"I am excited for Jason to join our leadership team as we continue to hire the best, and improve and expand our product portfolio," said Lee Chen, Founder and CEO for A10 Networks.
