A10's AX 5200 Wins Two Best of Show Awards at Interop Tokyo 2009
First Time a Single Product Receives Two Top Honors at Japan's Largest Information Technology Exhibition
SAN JOSE, CA. - June 15, 2009 -- A10 Networks®, the technology leader in Application Delivery Controllers (ADC), today announced that its AX 5200 Advanced Traffic Manager was honored with two Best of Show awards at Interop Tokyo: One award in the Network Infrastructure category for Carrier/Internet Service Provider (ISP), and a second award in the ShowNet Product category.
The Best of Show awards are selected from over 300 companies' products and solutions exhibiting at Interop Tokyo 2009. The finalists are chosen after rigorous examination by IT industry experts. There were six finalists in the "Network Infrastructure for Carrier/ISP" category, and AX 5200 earned the Grand Prix award. In addition, among products that were deployed by the NOC （Network Operation Center）running live for the exhibition, AX 5200 received the Grand Prix award in the "Product" category for the ShowNet. Interop Tokyo was held June 8 to 12, 2009 at the Makuhari Messe convention center.
"AX 5200 showcases the benefits of A10's advanced hardware design and revolutionary Advanced Core OS (ACOS), and its particular advantage is the combination of efficiency, flexibility, and speed," said Lee Chen, founder and CEO for A10 Networks. "The innovative design of AX 5200 sets the industry record with the highest performance in the most compact and energy efficient platform, delivering on A10's mission to make datacenters faster, better and greener."
The Interop Tokyo judges selected AX 5200 as the Best of Show based on the following reasons:
- Innovative technology for solving Carriers/ISPs' immediate issues: Carriers/ISPs need to deal with growing traffic while reducing power, space and capital spending. AX 5200 provides significantly higher performance in a compact 2 rack unit (RU) platform with only 680 Watts maximum power consumption.
- AX Series ran live traffic to support IPv4-to-IPv6 translation for the ShowNet. In addition, live 40 Gb throughput demonstrations were conducted for IPv4 server load balancing (SLB) and IPv6 SLB during the exhibition.
- AX 5200 delivers over 3 million Layer 4 connections per second and 40 Gb application throughput in a compact 2RU platform. This performance level goes beyond competitors' chassis-based products while consuming significantly less energy.
