Club One Selects A10 Networks AX Series to Scale Web Application Delivery for Fitness Centers and Partners

AX Series Delivers Club One an Advanced Server Load Balancing Solution for Streaming Video

Club One SAN JOSE, CA. - January 5, 2009 -- A10 Networks®, today announced that Club One, an award-winning fitness and wellness provider operating 20 health clubs in California and more than 60 corporate and community fitness centers, selected and deployed A10's AX Series Advanced Traffic Manager to provide a comprehensive Web Application Delivery platform. Delivering non-stop streaming video and fitness equipment applications are key differentiators for Club One. The company has partnerships with popular retail chains, providing streaming Web applications, such as instructional video content to the partner locations.

To ensure its applications keep pace, Club One selected A10's AX Series for the exceptional price/performance, advanced features and superior support. Upon the recommendation of Silicon Valley based reseller VARiable Path, Club One chose the AX 2000 new generation server load balancers. The AXs are deployed in the data center in a High Availability (HA) configuration, and also at the corporate office for Disaster Recovery (DR).

"At Club One, we differentiate our business with the ability to provide streaming video and interactive fitness applications to our customers and partners throughout the US and Canada. To ensure these applications are always running, our servers must always be performing behind the scenes," said Michael Nielson, IT Operations Manager for Club One. "A10's AX Series balances the server traffic to ensure our applications run non-stop."

The key AX Series features Club One leverages include Layer 4-7 server load balancing, SSL acceleration/offload to increase Web transaction speed and URL re-write. Club One also leverages AX's aFleX Layer 7 advanced scripting feature to customize policies for avoiding traffic bottlenecks. This allows them to manipulate traffic at the application layer before it reaches the end device - so that applications perform smoothly.

Additional key features within the AX Series include:

"We are proud to provide Club One the superior Web Application Delivery platform it requires to deliver differentiated services to its fitness centers, partners and customers," said Lee Chen, founder and CEO of A10 Networks. "The AX Series achieves high performance in a small footprint that delivers a significant price advantage for the Web Application Delivery market."
