STEM Program

As announced today, during A10 Transcend, the company has partnered with the Lindsey Vonn Foundation in an effort to support STEM programs for underrepresented girls. We have provided the first of what we plan to be an annual donation of $10,000 to the foundation.

The Lindsey Vonn Foundation is committed to engaging the community and our future generation with a positive and constructive atmosphere. Its focus is to help the next generation grow as individuals in whatever their passions may be as learners, athletes, or artists. Its programs help girls and boys to gain confidence, build inclusivity, and discover their grit within.

Donations and funds raised will be put towards programs to help girls and boys achieve their dreams. Its future goals are to hold more camps, give out more scholarships, and put on more speaker series across the country to the kids who need it most.

We recognize the importance of bringing the next generation of youth into STEM programs to ensure our future workforce remains globally competitive. While the foundation supports all youth, I personally see a critical need to provide additional support and mentorship for girls to enter the STEM fields, building a greater representation in these types of careers.

According to a Catalyst Research study, women’s share of STEM degrees accounts for only 36.1 percent in U.S. Women make up 47 percent of the workforce. Yet only 12 percent of engineers are female according to ComputerScience.org. The Lindsey Vonn Foundation, along with partners such as iD Tech and YES Scholars, are in a strong position to help overcome this gender gap, bringing in a more diverse and qualified STEM workforce.

I invite you to view my fireside chat with Lindsey Vonn at the A10 Transcend virtual user conference taking place today. She and I discussed her phenomenal career as an Olympic Gold medal winning downhill skier and what inspired her to start the Lindsey Vonn Foundation.

My inspiring session with her will be available on-demand following today’s event. Go to www.a10transcend.com to register.
