Easily Deploy Fully Redundant Links and Security Topologies

To help organizations scale and “bullet proof” their Internet links and security infrastructure, the EX Series Firewall and Link Load Balancing features enable organizations to easily deploy fully redundant network and security topologies - using multiple ISP connections and firewall/security components.

• Load Balancing
  Supports multi-homed networks with fine-grained load balancing across two or more ISP WAN links to help increase WAN capacity, ensure link level redundancy and optimize network traffic over the WAN.
  
  
• Firewall Load Balancing
  Distributes traffic across two or more firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), or other security appliances, to provide increased capacity, scalability and redundancy.

To help minimize the need to re-architect the perimeter or WAN whenever a new security component is added, the EX Series provides two operation modes: Route Mode or Transparent Mode. In Route Mode, the EX Series is part of the routing infrastructure - supporting OSPF, RIPv2 and static routing. In Transparent Mode, the EX Series simply becomes part of the existing network and operates in Layer 2 bridge mode - requiring no routing infrastructure changes.
