AX SERIES: SIP LOAD BALANCING

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) has gained widespread acceptance within the last few years, notably deployed for Voice over IP (VoIP) networks. SIP is a session based protocol in the OSI model, or application layer protocol in the TCP/IP model, that enables the creation, management, and tear-down of SIP traffic for VoIP, as well as other messaging and media applications.

The AX Series' SIP load balancing feature provides SIP application intelligence with advanced health checks to efficiently manage SIP traffic for VoIP, messaging and other media applications.

SIP load balancing scales and optimizes a SIP infrastructure by using separate, dedicated servers for SIP registration. SIP registration and SIP proxy traffic are handled in separate service groups, whose servers can be monitored with separate SIP health checks for registration or non-registration traffic. SIP is checked at the application layer for maximum accuracy.
