June 2010 was a very exciting month for A10 Networks as we received two prestigious awards.
Our 64-bit AX Series won Best of Microsoft TechEd in the Networking category for our innovation and contribution to Microsoft applications. According to the judging panel after live demos on the TechEd show floor, the 64-bit AX Series won the award due to its "innovative approach to network load-balancing, high availability, and health monitoring. Site-level and global-level geographic redundancy—through its uniquely flexible ACOS (Advanced Core Operating System) architectureprovides for a truly scalable solution that boasts excellent security and 64-bit performance." You can see A10 staff Todd Harcourt and Paul Nicholson receiving the award within this article.
Also, A10 was ranked as a Top Ten Bay Area WorkPlace within our small business category by the San Jose Mercury News.
At Interop Tokyo we simultaneously demonstrated our entire suite of AX Series Virtualization offerings live for the first time, including our SoftAX, AX-V, Virtual Chassis and Layer 3 Virtualization, and had significant participation in the ShowNet running Large Scale NAT, DS-Lite, IPv4-IPv6 Server Load Balancing (SLB) and IPv4 DNS SLB.
Finally, this month we saw the IPv6 Migration debate heat up, with NetworkWorld reporting that IPv4 addresses could be exhausted by December this year due to a growing number of mobile devices.
At A10, we believe that IPv4 will still be used in 2020, requiring solutions such as our AX Series that can translate between IPv4 and IPv6. Watch A10 CEO Lee Chen's interview with Orange on IPv6 migration issues.
